The nature reserve De Schelphoek is a unique creek area on Schouwen-Duiveland, formed after the 1953 flood disaster. Following a dike breach and the construction of a ring dike, a beautiful creek landscape emerged, surrounded by forest. The area serves as a breeding ground for over sixty bird species, including owls, nightingales, and the kingfisher.

From a lookout point on a caisson, visitors can enjoy panoramic views. De Schelphoek, near Serooskerke, is rich in diverse flora and fauna and has an interesting history. Walkers and cyclists can explore the area via marked trails. For anglers, there are opportunities to fish for trout. The area features lawns and swimming areas, making it an excellent spot for birdwatching.
